For over 50 years Salt Spring Singers has brought songs of love, hope, and peace, along with sophisticated and amusing numbers to our community. This year, Adam Dyjach, the new director, brings his expertise and musicality to the group. Adam is the music director for Fairfield United Church and also directs a choir in Victoria called the Westwind Singers.
The Salt Spring Singers will be accompanied again by the talented James Yi on the piano. For this session, the members of the choir were asked to suggest favourites from the Singers extensive library. Selections include pieces by John Rutter (“For the Beauty of the Earth”), Morten Lauridsen (Dirait-on”), John Lennon (“All You Need Is love”), Cole Porter (“Just One of Those Things”) among others. And they will be debuting a brand new song “Late Day Sun” composed by alto Bronwen Duncan. Numbers will be sung in French, Latin, Spanish and Zulu. Do join them and see if they have selected one of your favourites!
The concerts will take place at All Saints by the Sea on May 2 at 7:30 PM and May 3 at 2:30 PM.
Tickets are $30.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets are available at the ArtSpring box office and at the door.
